Program and Project Management

  • For a MidWest Regional BCBS Plan, assisted in the management of several successful projects including the implementation of new claims processing capabilities, eProcurement and Strategic Sourcing, the development and rollout of a Project Management Office overseeing all systems development projects, and a claims excellence project recovering greater than $20 million in overpaid claims.  Developed an Integrated Health Management (IHM) strategy to expand the Plan’s identity and focus from an indemnity insurer to a managed health provider through identifying the vision and development plan to provide emerging medical management services through both the indemnity and managed care products.
  • For an Eastern BCBS Plan, managed the claims processors and customer service professionals of the consumer and small group business unit SWAT teams during a transition to new transaction processing systems.  Implemented numerous management and operational standards upon which to manage the operation, identified system shortcomings to be corrected by the information systems group and responded to day-to-day operational issues.
  • For an Eastern BCBS Plan, completed an Operations Excellence Project including the recovery of $18 million in overpaid claims, redesign of call center operations leveraging in-house, under used technologies to improve operations efficiency by >25%, resulting in $12 million in 1st year savings.
